Manager, Strategic Pricing - Litigation Practices.
The Manager, Strategic Pricing - Litigation Practices reports to the Director of Strategic Pricing and manages a team of analysts. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working specifically with Litigation practices, creating AFA models, and managing a team within the legal industry. This manager will be instrumental in defining the firm’s pricing strategies and driving profitability through insightful, data-driven analysis, while specializing in specific law firm practice groups. You will work closely with partners, attorneys, and senior management to develop and refine pricing models, analyze financial performance, and optimize client fee arrangements. Your role will also involve integrating market data and industry insights into all presentations, models, and analyses. This position demands a profound understanding of legal services and financial analysis, coupled with strong leadership skills to promote a culture of data-driven decision-making.
In this capacity, the Manager, Strategic Pricing – Litigation Practices will:
- Develop Pricing Strategies
- Design and implement innovative pricing strategies tailored to various practice areas and client segments, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market dynamics.
- Financial Analysis
- Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to evaluate profitability, pricing trends, cost structures, and revenue opportunities; and
- Provide actionable insights to enhance financial performance and efficiency.
- Client Profitability Analysis
- Analyze client profitability and lifetime value to inform pricing negotiations and client retention strategies; and
- Identify opportunities to improve client engagement and profitability.
- Competitive Intelligence
- Monitor competitor pricing strategies and market trends to identify opportunities and threats; and
- Recommend adjustments to pricing approaches based on competitive analysis.
- Data Modeling and Forecasting
- Develop predictive models and financial forecasts to support pricing decisions and strategic planning; and
- Utilize statistical methods and tools to analyze data and derive meaningful insights.
- Collaboration and Leadership
- Collaborate with partners, attorneys, and firm leadership to educate and influence stakeholders on pricing best practices and strategies; and
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement pricing initiatives effectively.
- Technology and Tools
- Evaluate and implement pricing analytics tools and technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of pricing processes; and
- Stay updated on industry advancements in pricing and analytics and recommend improvements to existing tools.
Proficiencies:
- Exceptional analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling, statistical analysis, and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, SQL);
- Advanced PowerPoint and presentation skills are essential;
- Knowledge of legal industry dynamics, billing practices, and client engagement models;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required - with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization; and
- Proven track record of leading projects, leading people and driving change initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field;
- An advanced degree (MBA) is preferred;
- Minimum 3 years of Legal Pricing or Legal Project Management Experience (required); and
- 7+ years of work experience in any of the following areas: Legal Pricing, Pricing Analytics, Financial analysis, or Management Consulting.
