Litigation Technology Services Project Analyst Litigation Assistant Manager of Litigation Technology Services Washington, DC 9:00 AM  – 5:30 PM EST M-F, Participation in weekend on-call rotation; overtime and weekends as needed The Litigation Technology Services Analyst will be responsible for performing tasks assigned by the department Managers and Project Coordinators. These tasks include (but are not limited to) database and application support; database management; preparation of electronic data for document review and production, trial support (including trial site technology setup) and vendor management.
  • Create databases and load processed data.
  • Create electronic document productions.
  • Perform quality control checks on data loaded and/or produced.
  • Maintain project collection and production tracking logs.
  • Provide the Manager/Project Coordinator with periodic updates of all assigned tasks.
  • Assist Project Coordinator on project related tasks.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot litigation technology software and hardware problems.
  • Provide support of litigation technology applications, both internally and externally hosted.
  • Describe and report system and software problems to vendors and internal IT department for resolution.
  • Promote the use of litigation technology applications for case management.
  • Attend litigation practice group and case team meetings as requested.
  • Travel to trial sites to provide technology assistance as needed.
  • Accurately record assignments/time in Carpe Diem.
  • Other tasks as assigned by department managers.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Candidates without a degree but with commensurate experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years of litigation support analyst/specialist experience in a law firm or corporate legal department with an emphasis on litigation support technology (electronic discovery, document processing and production, trial presentation).  Candidates with equivalent litigation support vendor experience will also be considered.
  • Must be methodical and organized. Must be able to multi-task, and operate well under time constraints.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team and to develop relationships with internal case teams as well as outside service providers.
  • Experience with administration, support and use of Concordance, Ipro, CaseMap and Case Notebook databases.
  • Experience with MS Access – creating databases and  running SQL queries,
  • Experience using  text editors (TextPad).  Regular expression experience a plus.
  • Experience manipulating load files (Concordance .DAT, Summation .Dii, Ipro .LFP) and troubleshooting data loading issues.
  • Experience managing outsourced service providers processing and hosting ESI for litigation document review and production.
  • Experience with vendor hosted document review solutions – Relativity preferred

The following are not required skills but are preferred.

  • Experience formatting document search terms and performing quality control on the search term results
  • Experience with trial support software such as Trial Director and Sanction.
  • Trial site and war room technology setup experience (setup of trial laptops and local networks).
  • SharePoint administration  experience.
  • Experience or technical training with Visual Basic or scripting languages such as VBA and VBScript.
  • General office environment.
  • Ability to sit for long period of time
  • May be required to move or lift computer equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
