Description

As a Technology Trainer, The Technology Trainer provides a variety of software training to the employees. He or she provides training to meet the needs of employees via training requests, new technology, help desk reports, and guidance from Senior Trainers and Department Managers. The Trainer works with his or her team to develop and implement effective training programs by using a variety of different tools and software.while accomplishing these and other critical functions:

  • Providing assistance and training to end users for firm-approved applications using a variety of different methods. Software includes: Microsoft Office, Outlook, iManage Work, Litera Change-Pro, Intapp Time, Remote computing (Virtual Desktop, VPN, RSA), Cisco phone software, and other programs as deemed necessary.
  • Working with team members in Technology or other departments when training needs are identified, and creating methods for proper instruction. Receiving end users training requests and using existing programs to meet the training needs.
  • May customize training materials based on local needs. Training may be given via classes, demonstrations, or one-on-one training. Preparing training documentation, handouts, outlines, instructions, and other materials as directed.
  • Coordinating and scheduling all aspects of classes including creating training reports, scheduling conference rooms, providing food, providing audio/visual, sending invitations confirmations and reminders, and keeping record of trainee attendance.
  • Ensuring needed audio/visual equipment is working properly.
  • Participating in firmwide training conference calls and/or smaller working groups to prepare for upgrades, writing materials, and learning processes.
  • Assisting with office-wide software rollouts or other IT upgrades.
  • Working with the Global Technology Training group to ensure consistency of training programs firm-wide.
  • Working with global and local staff in testing Word templates and new systems or processes as requested.
  • Utilizing the myLearning to administer training programs. Coordinating with local office to ensure training programs are communicated.
  • Evaluating and customizing training rollouts in order to meet local office specific needs for new hire training, technology rollout training, or ongoing education.
  • Assisting with office-wide software rollouts or other IT upgrades.
  • Coordinating with other areas / departments of the firm where overlap exists to develop efficient procedures / communications to stream-line processes and satisfy various department needs.
  • Assisting with special projects on various issues as needed.
  • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co- workers.

As a Technology Trainer, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Technology Trainer must have knowledge and proficiency in a wide variety of software programs, including Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016, Desksite 9.3 and iManage Work 10, and Intapp Time. The successful candidate will have knowledge and proficiency of various remote communication methodologies required, including dialup, Virtual Desktop, RSA SecurID technology and VPN. The Technology Trainer must have knowledge of  Adobe Acrobat DC and be able to develop knowledge of Cisco Phone software, as well as Latham & Watkins templates and macros, the intranet, Firm myLearning, and Skype For Business. The successful candidate will have well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the Firm; ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus; and excellent communication skills in all media. The Technology Trainer must have expert technical writing skills, good presentational skills, organizational skills needed to manage time well, and be proficient in facilitating professional training programs. The Technology Trainer must have knowledge and proficiency in adult learning and the ability to create high level training courses that incorporate experiential learning activities to meet the needs and culture of the audience (generic and customized).

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is preferred.

Two (2) years software training experience is desired.
