Human Resources Technology Specialist
Our client is seeking a Human Resources Technology Specialist to become an integral member of a talented
team. This position will report to the Director of Human Resources and has a hands-on role in the day-to-day human
resources activities, working with all members of the HR team and other managers. The primary duties will fall in
several functional areas: payroll support, employment law compliance, operational HR processes, and overseeing
human resources technology and processes for efficient data management and reporting. This is a great opportunity
for a self-motivated individual that takes ownership of their tasks to develop a broad range of human resources
experience with a team of highly motivated employees. Responsibilities of this position are complex, requiring a
high degree of confidentiality, discretion, independent judgment, and initiative. This is an ideal position for an
experienced Human Resources Generalist or Human Resources Specialist who is a quick learner and wants to take
ownership of systems and processes in HR. This is a full-time, exempt position in MPR’s Alexandria, VA, office.
Duties/Responsibilities
Serve as the administrator for the HRIS (UKG Pro), Talent Management System (iCIMS), and Learning
Management System (Cornerstone). Make recommendations to improve functionality, including
automation, and ensure compliance.
Coordinate system upgrades, testing, and troubleshooting, to support HR team members and employees.
Evaluate new HR technology tools that align with MPR business needs.
Work with a team to execute the human resources department portion of payroll processing. Includes
updating information on employees in the HRIS and tracking changes related to arrivals and departures and
status changes.
Partner with HR users and other stakeholders within the company for standard and ad-hoc reporting from
various HR systems.
Support the development and maintenance of HR policies and process documentation.
Work with others in HR to advise and interpret policies for employees.
Ensure accuracy of leave and other benefit records.
Collaborate with the HR team to conduct audits of HR systems and information.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements in all aspects of employment. This includes
preparing and submitting compliance related reporting for federal and state as well as maintaining HR’s
compliance tracking report.
Partner with outside vendors as appropriate.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, psychology, Data Analytics, or other related
fields preferred. In lieu of a degree, 6-8 years of experience in a similar human resources position may
suffice.
PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus.
Experience
Four (4) or more years of experience in a Human Resources Specialist, or equivalent role with a solid
background in systems and reporting required.
Skills – Software
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) applications.
Prior experience with the Human Resources Information System (UKG Pro) is required.
Prior experience with an Applicant Tracking System and Learning Management System is preferred. Prior
experience in data analytics tools and mechanisms and ability to support specific reporting queries based on
business or HR needs.
