Application Integration Engineer

We are currently seeking an Application Integration Engineer. This position can be based in our Chicago or Washington, DC office. The Application Integration Engineer develops, maintains and supports the Firm’s portfolio of business applications.  This role supports all stages of system development, including gathering requirements, technical design, coding, unit and integration testing, deployment, and post-production support.

As an Application Integration Engineer, you will:

  • Collaborate with users and business process owners to understand, capture, and document application requirements; analyze requirements and convert them into functional and technical designs
  • Work with users to maintain backlog of requests and put together a release management plan that organizes and prioritizes the backlog into logical groupings
  • Develop user interfaces, middle tier objects, and stored procedures using Firm’s standard toolsets to solve unique business problems
  • Extend functionality of commercial-off-the-shelf products by learning and using supported Application Program Interfaces (API’s) and/or database development
  • Coordinate with vendors, as needed, to expedite the troubleshooting/resolution process
  • Stay abreast of product updates and execute plan for patching/upgrading systems to ensure applications stay current and within vendor’s support requirements
  • Develop solutions to facilitate integration between applications
  • Develop custom SQL reports
  • Create detailed documentation of all development and maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with other information systems teams to ensure all parties are aware of changes that may impact their individual domains
  • Identify areas for improvement and work with management to plan and execute steps for enhancing individual and team productivity

 

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least five (5) years of related experience
  • Advanced knowledge of C#, VB.NET, SQL, LDAP, XML, HTML, JavaScript, Active Server Pages, stylesheets, object oriented design and development tools
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to work flexible and/or fluctuating work hours
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
  • Ability to work independently and under own direction and initiative
  • Ability to work in collaborative team environment
