Cloud Software Engineer – Business Intelligence (Multiple Offices)
The firm is a global Am Law 50 firm, seeking an experienced Cloud Software Engineer.This position can be based in any of our U.S. offices: Century City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego (Del Mar), San Diego (Downtown), San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Houston, Dallas, New York or Washington DC. There is only one opening. A Cloud Software Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing the Firm's projects relating to AI legal analysis & productivity tooling, financial predictive analytics, data warehousing, and best-practice cloud AI tooling for existing and new products. These projects encompass a wide range of initiatives that focus on automated process improvements, data presentation and user experience, and the use of modern analytic techniques to uncover business value within existing datasets. This role requires knowledge of industry standard Cloud software development techniques and tools, experience with both standard and modern data pipelines and presentation methods, and the ability to adapt to an ever-changing landscape of analytic programs. Projects in this space will retain high visibility at the top levels of the Firm, with close ties to the Application Development team, Cloud Infrastructure team, and Executive management. A Cloud Software Engineer is expected to perform all duties with a commitment to superior service, quality work product, and an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Above all, the Engineer must fulfill the needs of the Firm in a manner that is consistent with the Firm's visions and values. Qualifications and Experience Required Qualifications:- Minimum 1+ years of cloud software engineering experience, preferably in a technology or law firm environment. Knowledge and experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
- Adept at programming across multiple environments and languages.
- Dependable team player, able to quickly create an in-depth understanding of AI tooling and provide relevant feedback.
- Able to identify, analyze, and troubleshoot complex development-related issues.
- Superior time management skills, including the ability to set priorities, flex with changes in requirements and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle pressure in a constructive and positive manner and contribute to creative resolution of problems as they arise.
- Demonstrated initiative, and commitment to professional growth for self and others.
- Experienced in Azure/AWS, .NET, and Windows-based development stacks.
- Intimate knowledge of the evolving standards, and technical intricacies, of current AI APIs.
- Foundational understanding of Large Language Models and their mathematic concepts.
- Extensive experience in a standard programming environment and IDE, such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, or similar.
- Solid understanding and programming abilities with database management and supporting languages, such as SQL or NoSQL systems.
- Ranged familiarity with both scripting and object-oriented languages, such as C#, Java, Powershell, and Python.
- Experience with reporting platforms and data pipeline tools.
- Expertise with Azure resources, OpenAI/Anthropic/OSS LLM platform APIs, Blazor Webassembly (WASM), Microsoft SQL Server, React, and/or Power BI.
- Experience with Machine Learning frameworks and standard practices.
- Practical experience understanding and implementing AI models.
- Current Departmental policy is hybrid–working in the office a minimum of one day per week and working from home the rest of the week (subject to change).
- Overtime may be required as the job duties demand.
