Position Summary The Senior Network Engineer supports computer network operations, analyzes and resolves network problems, and provides support to users. This position will support multi-user platforms to ensure that production cycles are completed in a timely manner. The Network Engineer identifies and documents standards for use and operation of network software. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities- Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Manage and maintain successful network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VLAN, WLAN, SD-WAN and Internet connections
- Configure, maintain, and manage SAN environment in DC and co-location sites.
- Assist with monitoring network security to protect against external, internal, and/or programmatic attacks.
- Assist with application and windows update deployment via SCCM or similar tools.
- Install, configure and maintain VMware environment for Windows Server network servers (all versions).
- Proactively manage and optimize Exchange on-prem and online environment.
- Integrate servers, including database, e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems.
- Configure, maintain and support customer remote access including VPN and Citrix solutions.
- Manage and maintain successful backup and continuity solutions in primary and secondary locations.
- Serve as an escalation point for systems operational issues.
- Assist with maintaining primary data center including all considerations for power management, temperature, humidity and cabling.
- Support Active Directory and group policies within a Windows Server environment.
- Administer network monitoring software to ensure timely alerts and response to network and systems issues.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
- Investigate developing network technologies and provide recommendations regarding the future application of such technologies and related productivity gains.
- Responds to after-hours issues in a timely manner based upon severity and/or business impact.
- Serve as Project Manager for the deployment of or upgrades of key network infrastructure technologies.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems ore related discipline required
- Minimum of 5 – 7 years of previous networking support experience, preferably in a law firm
- Proven experience and success with LAN, SAN, WAN, VLAN, SD-WAN and WLAN configuration management and administration in Cisco environments.
- Experience with SCCM for application deployment and windows updates
- Strong experience with Windows OS, Active Directory, and Group Policy
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange administration (on-prem and online).
- Experience with VMware administration.
- Experience with NetApp hardware and software including Snap solutions.
- Experience with network security for Windows Servers and Cisco devices.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong experience with cloud technology, primarily Azure and AWS.
- Firm understanding of managing Microsoft Windows Server products, VMware, HP servers, Cisco Meraki wireless LAN controllers and access points
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines and business objectives
- Strong communication and customer service acumen

- General office environment, with standard office equipment available. Computer/server rooms are often frequently accessed. Lighting is adequate. Temperate is adequate but is often colder in server room than in the general office/desk space. There are also elevated noise levels in server room.
- Work is moderately supervised.
- Requires regular typing and use of a computer.
- Work is generally sedentary in nature with constant sitting, but also requires occasional walking, standing during rack mounting, bending, climbing and balancing ladders to reach servers, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, keying, grasping of wires, cords and hand tools. Weight handled for lifting and carrying materials and boxes is generally 10-15 lbs; weight handled for pushing/pulling is generally 20-30 lbs.
- Products and materials utilized include computers, servers, storage mediums and arrays, boxed materials and pallets. Equipment and instruments utilized include cabling kits, crimpers, testers and toners for tracing cables, electrical cords, wire management equipment, ladders to reach servers.
- Environment is not particularly hazardous or dangerous, but does require ability to remove, move and reconnect modules, including power supplies and peripherals with adherence to safety precautions. If modules are not fully populated with all power supplies and peripherals, weight handled may reach 30 lbs. If modules are fully populated, weight may reach 70 lbs.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English; follow instructions, standards and procedures; and follow proper lifting and safety precaution procedures.
- Must be able to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
- Must be able to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone and speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone.
- Requires occasional to frequent communication (in person, on the phone, email, and/or via video conference) with all levels of firm personnel and external parties that have business with the firm (vendors, etc.), including the ability to participate in and/or present at small and large group meetings, respond to inquiries, and participate in other interactions in fulfillment of job duties. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- May require availability to work outside of normal business hours and occasional local and overnight travel. Incumbent is expected to work the hours necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
- Environment may be stressful, working with tight deadlines, regular interactions with attorneys and staff, work product may be subjected to close scrutiny due to high visibility both internally and externally, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, exercise high levels of accuracy and practice great attention to detail, are required.
