Responsibilities:
Design and deploy SCOM infrastructure: You will lead the management of our SCOM
systems to effectively monitor our organization's IT infrastructure. This includes
configuring management packs, rules, and monitors to monitor applications, servers,
networks, and databases.
Create custom management packs using Silect MP Studio 3rd party tool.
Monitor and troubleshoot SCOM systems: You will proactively monitor SCOM systems
to identify and resolve issues, ensuring the reliability and availability of critical systems.
This involves analyzing alerts, investigating problems, and implementing corrective
actions to maintain a stable and secure IT environment.
Develop and maintain management packs: You will create and update management
packs tailored to our organization's applications, services, and infrastructure. This
involves configuring rules, alerts, and notifications to ensure comprehensive
monitoring and effective management of system health and performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams: You will work closely with IT teams, system
administrators, developers, and other stakeholders to understand system
requirements, recommend enhancements, and implement monitoring solutions
aligned with business goals.
Continuous improvement and best practices: You will stay up-to-date with the latest
SCOM features, tools, and best practices, and leverage them to enhance system
performance, reliability, and security. You will also contribute to the development and
implementation of IT operational policies, procedures, and standards.
Documentation and reporting: You will maintain accurate documentation of SCOM
infrastructure, configurations, and processes. Additionally, you will generate regular
reports on system performance, availability, and capacity utilization to provide
insights for informed decision-making.
Manage our services overview dashboards solution – Martello IQ/Gizmo.
Provide 24x7 support as needed.
Essential Functions of Job:
Monitor SCOM consoles and dashboards, respond to alerts, and resolve or escalate
issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve system and application performance issues.
Perform maintenance tasks and configure SCOM settings.
Manage incidents and coordinate with stakeholders to restore normal operations.
Generate reports and document troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide guidance on monitoring
solutions.
Analyze performance data, plan for capacity needs, and optimize system resources.
Continuously improve monitoring processes and explore automation opportunities.
Stay updated on SCOM advancements and share knowledge with the team.
Validate any changes to SCOM environment within DEV/Test SCOM environment.
Qualifications and Experience Required Qualifications:
3+ years of recent IT experience, demonstrating a robust understanding of current IT
infrastructure, theories, principles, and practices.
Extensive knowledge of SCOM or similar monitoring solutions, showcasing expertise
in monitoring and managing IT environments effectively.
Profound knowledge of Windows Server 2016 or newer versions, with hands-on
experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows Server
environments.
Strong understanding of Active Directory, encompassing domain management, user
authentication, and group policy administration.
In-depth familiarity with Windows operating systems, enabling efficient support, and
administration of various Windows-based platforms.
General knowledge of Systems Security best practices and procedures, ensuring a
security-conscious approach to IT operations and management.
Exceptional customer service skills, fostering positive relationships with clients and
colleagues, and delivering top-notch support and solutions to end-users.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of recent IT experience with a profound grasp of contemporary IT
infrastructure, theories, principles, and practices
Proficient in Device Management using SCCM/MS Intune
Experienced in License management
Skilled in running SQL queries to generate reports
Capable of utilizing Excel to consolidate data from multiple sources into a single
worksheet
Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Planner, and Project
Knowledgeable about Azure Monitor and Sentinel
EducationPreferred: Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years relevant work experience.
Major (if applicable): Computer Science or Information Technology related
License and Certification Preferred: Certification such as MCP, MCSA, MCSE a plus. C
