IT Specialist
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
HELP DESK:
• Provide technical support either by phone, email, and desk-side for software and hardware support with ability and knowledge to remotely resolve issues using Remote Software.
• Monitor and accept support requests (via telephone, e-mail, in-person) related to firm desktop equipment and firm approved applications.
• Document all support requests via the firm’s ticketing system.
• Resolve assigned calls through troubleshooting, researching, testing, or working with other support team members.
• Escalate or reassign calls to in-house network or application specialists as appropriate.
• Notify caller with resolution progress and ensure user is satisfied once call is resolved.
• Provide secondary telephone and backup coverage to other IT team members as necessary.
Word Processing:
• Responsibilities include document troubleshooting and editing utilizing Microsoft Office\Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and similar software.
• Assist with document conversion and clean up; i.e., correct formatting, insert footers, page lines and numbers utilizing Microsoft Office\Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and similar software.
• Print complex documents (i.e., Excel spreadsheets, data room sites, etc.) that require advanced knowledge of software.
• Create documents from voice recordings, dictation or previous versions in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Facilitate the creation and editing of Tables of Authorities and Tables of Contents adhering to firm styles and guidelines.
• Create closing binders that contain hyperlinked indexes and bookmarking PDF’s.
• Create merged documents, mailing lists and labels.
• Create redlines\blacklines and prepare document comparisons using Change Pro.
• Utilize features in Adobe Pro: OCR documents, create bookmarks and hyperlinks, combine several PDF documents into one document, create fillable forms, convert documents from PDF to PDF/A, and bates number documents.
• Copy documents from different locations and save to network drives, document management system and/or external media; create zip files.
• Adhere to firm document and information security measures by following internal and client security protocols.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Support adherence to firm standards in the creation of documents and use of firm supported hardware and software.
• Study existing products, new products, and technologies to advance level of knowledge; attend software classes required by firm.
• Participate in the development and implementation of special projects as requested.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Extensive experience in supporting and troubleshooting Windows 10, Microsoft Office\Office 365.
• Ability to listen, interpret questions, and verbally communicate questions and instructions.
• Excellent service-oriented skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
• Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high- pressure environment.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
• Ability to explain complex solutions to problems to non-technical users.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
• Maximum flexibility when working with others on daily and project schedules.
• Law firm or legal experience highly preferred.
